More than 900 ReStores across the United States and Canada resell donated building materials and furniture at charity prices, with proceeds going to Habitat's housing work. For escape rooms the relevant aisles are doors, vintage hardware, light fixtures, cabinets, sinks, shelving, lumber, paint and the occasional stained glass panel, all of which turn a plywood box into a believable room for very little.
This is a walk in operation: most stores do not publish inventory online, stock changes daily, and the good doors leave within hours, so regulars visit weekly rather than search. Nothing is guaranteed, hardware may be missing screws, and delivery is usually your problem, though many locations hold larger items for a day. A handful of ReStores run their own online shops, which is worth checking before driving across town.
