magicplan turns a phone into a measuring tool. Scan a room with the camera or the LiDAR sensor, get a floor plan with square footage in minutes, then attach cost items to each room. The app comes from Sensopia in Montreal and is used by restoration crews, remodelers and insurance adjusters. Plans export as PDF, DXF or image, and reports carry photos, notes and prices.

Most useful early, when the budget depends on exact areas: flooring, paint, drywall, tile. Free use covers only a couple of projects, paid tiers unlock more. Accuracy drops in dark rooms, around curved walls and in cluttered spaces, so a laser measure still belongs in the bag before final numbers go to a client.
