Avalanche.report publishes one joint bulletin for Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino, the first cross-border avalanche product of its kind in the Alps, launched for the 2018/19 season. It appears every afternoon in German, Italian and English, with a morning update when conditions shift overnight. Danger levels are given by elevation and aspect, along with the avalanche problem, snowpack description and the regional danger patterns that Tyrolean forecasters made well known.
It runs as a web app that installs to the home screen, which keeps it light but means the bulletin should be read and screenshotted before losing signal. Station data, weather maps and a forecaster blog round it out, all free of charge. Ideal for the Brenner region and the Dolomites, of no help for the Western Alps.
Varsom is the warning service of the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate, and its app bundles avalanche forecasts for Norway and Svalbard with flood, landslide and lake ice warnings and weather from Yr. Bulletins cover more than twenty forecast regions, with danger level, avalanche problem, snowpack notes and a mountain weather summary. The New Zealand Avalanche Advisory is produced by the Mountain Safety Council and covers the country's main backcountry areas, from Aoraki and the Craigieburns to Fiordland and Ruapehu. The free version is limited; offline downloads and most of the useful winter layers require the Premium subscription, billed annually.
