Minelab's 2023 workhorse runs Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency and adds single frequencies from 4 to 40 kHz, which is exactly what wet salt sand asks for. The housing is IP68 rated to 5 metres, so a wave over the control box is a non event. Target ID spreads across 119 segments, the kit ships with 11 inch and 6 inch DD coils plus ML85 wireless headphones, and two dedicated Beach modes handle dry sand and surf separately. Around 1.3 kg on the arm, with a torch and handle vibration for night sessions.

A sensible single machine for someone who hunts beach in July and parks the rest of the year, and it doubles as a gold prospecting unit. Divers should look elsewhere: 5 metres is the hard limit. The menu rewards a couple of evenings with the manual, and the battery is internal, so a long trip means a power bank rather than a pack of spares.
