PawHut, part of the Aosom group, is the budget flat pack seen on every marketplace listing: fir frame, asphalt shingle roof, a nest box with a lift up lid, a sliding tray under the perch and a small wire run, most models sized honestly for two or three hens rather than the four sometimes suggested. Prices sit in the low hundreds, delivery is by parcel courier, and spare panels can be requested through customer service within the warranty period.
As a brooder grow out pen, a broody box, a quarantine unit or a trial run before committing to something solid, it does the job for very little money. As permanent housing it disappoints: the timber is slight, the wire is light gauge and stapled, latches are the weak point against foxes and raccoons, and the hundred plus screws take a patient evening. Two coats of exterior stain before the birds go in extend its life considerably.
