PredictWind came out of the sailing world and runs its own models, PWG and PWE, alongside ECMWF, GFS, UKMO and Spire data. The point is comparison: four forecasts on one graph, and if they agree, confidence is high. Extras include GRIB downloads, offline access, departure planning, satellite imagery for cloud and current data, and observations from its own weather stations.
Kiters who chase distant spots or go downwind on the open water get the most out of it, especially the offline and low bandwidth features built for boats. Casual riders will pay for tools they never touch, since the useful plans are clearly aimed at sailors. The interface is technical, and the free tier is limited enough that the app only makes sense as a paid subscription.
