Speech Blubs is built by Blub Blub Inc, registered in Dover, Delaware, with the team working out of Slovenia. The method is video modelling: the child sees real children on screen making a sound or a word, then copies it, with the front camera turning the face into a silly picture as a reward. Content starts at around 12 months and covers early sounds, animals, emotions and first sentences. A separate Pro version exists for speech therapists with a session builder.
Useful as a warm up before or between therapy sessions, and cheap next to an AAC app. It is not a therapy replacement and it is not a communication tool, so a non speaking child needs something else alongside. Pricing is a subscription that renews on its own, and the app store reviews are full of people who missed the renewal date.
