Square Invoices is the billing side of Square and free to send: unlimited invoices, estimates, recurring and milestone invoices with no monthly fee. Square earns on payment instead, at 3.3% plus 30 cents for a card paid online on the free plan, 2.9% plus 30 cents on Plus at $49 a month, ACH at 1% with a $1 minimum, next business day deposits included and instant transfers at 1.95%. The same account handles Tap to Pay on a phone and Square readers.
That suits a contractor who takes payment at the kitchen table and wants nothing to administer. Trades work is not the focus: estimating stays basic, there is no job costing or crew scheduling, and larger deposits can trigger a review or a hold, a recurring gripe among sellers with big ticket invoices. Rates were reworked in late 2025, so older figures still circulating online are simply wrong.
