Surfline is the biggest wave forecasting service in the world and absorbed Magicseaweed in 2023, taking over its spot database. Its strength is surf specific data: swell height, period and direction, wind quality ratings, tides, and thousands of live cams on real breaks. For kiters at wave spots, the cam plus the LOLA swell model is often faster than any wind table, because you see the water instead of guessing.
Wind coverage is decent but secondary, and spot lists follow surf breaks rather than flat water lagoons, so freestyle riders and inland kiters will find gaps. Nearly everything useful sits behind a yearly Premium subscription, and cam access is the main reason people pay. Coverage is strongest in the United States, Australia and Western Europe.
