Windguru has been running since 2000 and still looks like it: a dense table of numbers, colour coded by wind speed, with no decoration. Forecasts come from GFS plus higher resolution models such as ICON, AROME and WRF, and every spot page shows wind speed, gusts, direction, wave height and period in one screen. There are tens of thousands of spots worldwide, user added ones included, plus a station map with live readings. The PRO subscription adds finer model resolution, longer archives and faster updates.
Kiters who know their models love it, because nothing is smoothed or prettified. Beginners often bounce off the interface, since the table explains nothing on its own. The mobile apps, Windguru and Windguru Spot, work fine but keep the same spreadsheet logic, so a first time user should spend an evening learning what each row means.
