Windy.app
Windy.app grew out of a kitesurfing community project and it shows in the details: spot chats, wind alerts, a wind rose and statistics on how often a spot actually works in a given month. Forecasts come from several models at once, including GFS, ICON and local ones, and the app lets you compare them side by side instead of trusting one line. Weather stations, tides, swell and a wind map are included, and part of the data stays available offline.
The free version covers the basics; the Pro tier unlocks longer horizons, extra models and detailed meteograms. It suits riders who travel and want spot notes from locals rather than a bare number. People who only need one quick glance may find the app crowded, and the naming clash with the unrelated Windy.com confuses newcomers on a regular basis.
