WoolPets
Woolpets is a small family business from Washington state. Laurie and Kevin Sharp started it in 2007, first as an Etsy shop, after Laurie learned dry felting during her Waldorf teacher training. The line is 3D needle felting kits: owls, hedgehogs, penguins, cats, sheep and more, over thirty designs by now. Kits are put together in the USA and hold Corriedale wool roving from New Zealand, the United States and Canada, two felting needles, beads or stems where a design needs them, and photo instructions. Laurie also wrote three how-to books.
Good for beginners and for children from about eight with an adult nearby. Every step is shown in a photo, which teaches faster than a drawing. Two things to know: most kits leave out the foam work pad, it is bought once and lasts for years, and the designs are almost all animals, so anyone after flowers or human figures should look elsewhere.
