The 13th generation Fire HD 10 has a 10.1-inch 1920 by 1200 screen, an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage with microSD expansion. It launched at 139.99 dollars, weighs about 434 grams and, unlike earlier models, accepts a Made for Amazon stylus and a Bluetooth keyboard case.
As a cheap dedicated device for e-books, Kindle textbooks and video courses it is hard to beat on price, and battery life stretches through a long revision day. The limitation is the software: Fire OS has no Google Play, so Anki, Notion and many university apps either need sideloading or simply will not run. Lock screen advertisements are removed only for an extra fee, the browser is Silk rather than Chrome, and performance drops once several apps are open.
