The Grizzly has been in Bear's catalogue since 1950, which says more than any advertising copy. It is a one piece 58 inch recurve with a hard maple riser, laminated maple and fiberglass limbs and the old Bear Hair rest glued into the shelf. Draw weights run from 30 up to about 60 pounds, and the short length makes it easy to carry in brush or swing out of a treestand window.

A one piece bow means no limb bolts to loosen and nothing to rattle, but also no swapping weights and no packing it into a suitcase. The 58 inch length gets touchy for draws over 28 inches, where the string angle starts to pinch the fingers. Costs several times what a Chinese made takedown does, and there are no bushings for sights, so it is a bow for people who shoot off the shelf and want it to last twenty years.
