Sega Toys Homestar Classic
The Classic is the simpler branch of the Homestar family, sitting below the Flux in lamp power and price while using the same optical disc format. Stars are projected through a glass lens from replaceable discs, the sphere tilts on its base, rotation and a sleep timer are included, and licensed editions such as Ultraman or Mars versions appear with themed discs. Because the disc mount matches the rest of the range, the wider Sega catalogue can be used with it.
A reasonable route for someone who wants Homestar image quality without paying flagship money, or who is buying a themed edition as a gift. The dimmer lamp shows on high or textured ceilings, and the projection area is smaller than the Flux delivers. Some editions are Japanese domestic releases, so the manual and plug may need adapting.
