Avalanche.org is the clearing house for United States avalanche information, run by the American Avalanche Association together with the Forest Service National Avalanche Center. A single national map shows today's danger rating for every regional forecast centre, from the Northwest Avalanche Center to the Chugach in Alaska, and clicking through opens that centre's full bulletin, accident reports and observations. The same data feed is what powers avalanche forecast layers inside mapping apps.
Useful as a first stop for anyone travelling between states, or checking conditions somewhere new without knowing which centre covers it. There is no dedicated mobile app, so the mobile site has to be saved to the home screen and read while online, and forecast wording and structure vary between centres. Everything is free.
