Camco began in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1966 with a single product, antifreeze for the mobile home trade, and now lists over 4,000 items and more than 150 patents across RV, marine, ATV and camping gear. The name is a contraction of C and M Products, after founder Caine and his former boss Meyers, shortened in 1968. Sub brands cover most of an owner's shopping list: Rhino sewer hoses, TastePURE water filters, TST tank treatment, EAZ LIFT towing, Kuuma grills, Olympian heaters. Around a thousand employees work from five US facilities plus plants in Asia, and The Jordan Company took a stake in 2021.
On roofs and sealing Camco plays the middle ground: repair tapes, vent lids, roof coatings and accessories that sit on shelves at Walmart, Amazon and RV dealers, usually below specialist prices. The trade off is a catalog too big to be uniformly good, with light duty plastic parts next to genuinely solid ones, much of it produced overseas. Warranty claims normally run through the retailer, and buyers who want thick professional grade membrane tape tend to end up at a dedicated sealant maker.
