Berlin studio BioWink released Clue in 2013 and never repainted it pink: neutral colours, adult language, numbers first. Around thirty symptom categories, cycle statistics, PMS and ovulation windows, plus an encyclopaedia at helloclue.com written with clinicians. In 2021 the company received FDA clearance for Clue Birth Control, a digital contraceptive based on cycle history. The company operates under EU data protection law and states that it does not sell personal data.
A comfortable choice for teenagers and for anyone tired of flower icons and horoscopes. Clue Plus, the paid tier, adds analysis and forecasts, while core tracking stays free. Users who chart basal temperature and LH tests as a serious fertility method will find the toolkit thinner than in dedicated charting services.
