A pulse induction machine built for one job: salt water. PI ignores mineralisation that stops VLF units cold, so black sand and heavy salt make no difference to it. Garrett rates the sealed housing to 65 metres, and the Discrete Trash Elimination mode lets you knock out small foil and pull tabs without losing chains. Controls are knobs, not menus, which means gloved hands and night hunts stay simple. Two AA battery packs, land and marine, come in the box.
Best suited to wading, surf and dive hunts where gold and coins hide under mineralised sand. It gives no target ID and no depth reading, so every signal is a dig, and the trash tolerance of the operator matters more than usual. At roughly 2.2 kg it is not a machine for casually strolling a dry beach with a child in tow.
