Retail DNA testing brand launched in 2017 by DNA Diagnostics Center, the Fairfield, Ohio lab running samples since 1995, with more than 10 million kits processed. The whole idea is buying a swab kit off a shelf: CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart. The paternity kit, once sold as IDENTIGENE, costs under $30 for the box plus a $139 lab fee at registration, with results one business day after the lab receives the samples. Ancestry, health and skin tests sit in the $69 to $199 bracket. The lab holds ISO 17025 accreditation and CLIA, CAP and AABB certifications.
Good fit for someone who wants an answer this week without a clinic appointment. Two things to know: the at-home result is for personal knowledge only, court use needs a witnessed chain of custody test, and the retail box is not sold to New York residents. Genealogy fans get no relative matching and no family tree tools.
