Omnitracs has been in trucking tech since 1988, when it started as a Qualcomm business. Today it belongs to Solera, a vehicle data company. Its ELD hardware includes the IVG in-cab unit and the older XRS line, run under the Omnitracs One platform. The logs are certified for both the US and the Canadian mandates, which matters for cross-border carriers.
The usual customer is a large carrier with dispatch, routing and safety teams that need deep integrations. Many big fleets have run Omnitracs for decades and know it well. For a small fleet it is heavy: more screens, more training, and prices only by quote. Some reviewers say the interface looks dated next to newer apps.
