SleepScore was spun out of ResMed in 2016 and now trades under the Sleep.ai name. Nothing touches the sleeper: the phone sends inaudible sonar from the nightstand and reads movement and breathing, so no strap and no device on the mattress. The company points at peer reviewed papers validating the measurement against polysomnography, which is a firmer claim than most app makers put forward.
The free version gives nightly scores and advice; the paid tier adds full history, correlations, exportable data and a report to hand a physician. Useful for anyone who suspects a breathing problem and wants a record before a clinic visit. The catch: sonar wants the phone plugged in and aimed correctly, and product recommendations lean towards partner merchandise.
