Toast is a Boston restaurant technology company, public since 2021 and used by well over one hundred thousand venues, mostly in the United States. Tables is its reservations and waitlist product, and its advantage is being welded to the POS: floor status, open checks, guest spend and loyalty history live in the same system, so a host can see which table is actually paying rather than guessing. Bookings from the restaurant's own site and Toast's ordering pages carry no per cover fee.
That tight coupling is also the catch. Tables makes sense only for restaurants already running Toast hardware and payments, and switching POS to get it is a serious project. As a younger product it is thinner than SevenRooms on guest marketing and thinner than OpenTable on discovery, but for a Toast house wanting one screen instead of three it is hard to argue with.
