Windy.com, built by the Czech company Windyty, is the animated map everyone screenshots. Wind, gusts, swell, temperature and pressure layers play as smooth animations over the globe, and you can switch between ECMWF, GFS, ICON and local models to see how much they disagree. Tapping a point opens a meteogram with hourly wind and gust values; airport stations, webcams and radar are on the same map.
Most of it is free, which is rare in this niche, and the premium tier mainly adds more frequent updates and longer detailed forecasts. It is excellent for reading a weather pattern before a trip. For a single home spot it can be overkill, and the map first approach means more taps than a plain table when all you want is tomorrow morning at one beach.
