Zenchef is the Paris grown booking platform for restaurants that would rather own their guests than rent them. Since 2011 it has combined a bookable website, reservation widget, table plan, deposits, guest profiles and review collection in one subscription, with no commission on bookings taken through the restaurant's own channels. Its 2022 merger with the Dutch platform Formitable added stronger payment and experience tools and pushed the company well beyond France into the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Spain.

It works best for owner operated restaurants and small groups in Europe that already have a following on Instagram and Google and want those clicks turned into covers. Anyone hoping for a marketplace to fill empty midweek tables will be disappointed, because Zenchef deliberately does not run one, and the interface is strongest in its core European languages.
