The GPSMAP 67i is a full button-operated GPS handheld with inReach built in. It came out in 2023 at $599.99. It has a 3-inch sunlight-readable color screen (240 x 400) and 16 GB of storage with preloaded TopoActive maps and satellite imagery. It supports multi-band GPS, Galileo and QZSS, and has altimeter, barometer and compass sensors. With batteries it weighs 8.1 oz and is rated IPX7. Battery life is up to 165 hours with inReach and 10-minute tracking, and up to 425 hours in expedition mode with 30-minute tracking. You get two-way texting, interactive SOS and weather forecasts, all without a phone.
It suits hunters, search and rescue volunteers and off-trail travelers who want navigation and satellite messaging in one rugged unit and prefer not to rely on a phone screen in the cold. For someone who just wants an SOS button in the pack, it is too much: twice the weight of a Mini and slower to type on, since you pick letters with buttons. It uses the same Garmin plans as the rest of the inReach range.
