The inReach Mini 3 Plus is the top model in Garmin's palm-sized line. It came out in late 2025 at a list price of $499.99. It runs on the Iridium network, so coverage reaches both poles. It also has Garmin's newer IMT satellite module, which is what allows photo sharing and 30-second voice messages. A 1.9-inch color touchscreen (306 x 230) replaces the small monochrome screen of the Mini 2. The device weighs about 4.5 oz and is rated IP67. Garmin claims up to 350 hours with 10-minute tracking and about 95 hours in performance messaging mode.
This model is for people who want to type full messages on the device and send voice notes to relatives who won't read long texts. It has a speaker, a microphone and an emergency siren, and the loop carabiner comes in the box. You need an active Garmin plan to use it. The pay-per-use Enabled plan costs $7.99 a month, Essential costs $14.99, and every activation costs $39.99. If you only want an SOS button, you will be paying for hardware you never use.
